Web application penetration testing

We attack your web applications the way a real adversary would, by hand, to find the injection, access-control and business-logic flaws that scanners miss. You get a clear report, prioritized fixes and a free re-test.

Overview

Your web apps are the front door to your data

Customer portals, e-commerce, booking systems, admin panels and internal tools all sit in front of your most valuable data. A single flaw in how they handle input, sessions or permissions can expose every record behind them.

A web application penetration test is a controlled, authorized attack on that application. Our certified testers combine automated tooling with deep manual testing to find real, exploitable weaknesses, prove their impact safely, and show you exactly how to fix them.

Testing follows the OWASP Web Security Testing Guide and covers the OWASP Top 10 risk categories, then goes further into the business logic that is unique to your application.

What you receive

  • Executive summary for leadership, with an overall risk rating
  • Technical findings with severity (CVSS), evidence and step-by-step reproduction
  • Remediation guidance your developers and engineers can act on
  • Debrief call to walk your team through the results
  • Complimentary re-test to confirm each issue is fixed
Scope

What we test

Authentication & sessions

Login, MFA, password reset, session handling and token security, including brute-force and account-takeover paths.

Access control

Horizontal and vertical privilege escalation, insecure direct object references (IDOR) and broken role checks.

Injection

SQL, NoSQL, command and template injection, plus cross-site scripting (XSS) in all its forms.

Business logic

Price manipulation, workflow bypass, race conditions and feature abuse, the flaws only a human tester finds.

Server & configuration

Security headers, TLS, exposed files and admin panels, server-side request forgery (SSRF) and vulnerable components.

Data exposure

Sensitive data leaking through responses, logs, client-side storage and error messages.

How it works

The Digital Fortress protocol

Every engagement follows a disciplined, repeatable protocol, governed by signed rules of engagement so your operations stay protected throughout.

Phase 01

Reconnaissance & planning

We map your footprint, confirm targets and agree scope and rules of engagement in writing.

Phase 02

Identification & analysis

Automated scanning plus deep manual analysis pinpoints weaknesses, including business-logic flaws tools miss.

Phase 03

Exploitation & validation

Under controlled conditions we safely exploit findings to prove real-world impact, with no disruption.

Phase 04

Reporting & re-test

Executive and technical reports, a debrief with your team, and a complimentary re-test to confirm every fix.

Standards & frameworks

Mapped to the standards you report against

Findings are mapped to the frameworks your auditors and regulators use, so the report also works as compliance evidence.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How long does a web application penetration test take?

It depends on the size of the application, the number of user roles and whether its APIs are in scope. We confirm the exact testing window in your proposal after a free scoping call.

Should we choose black-box, grey-box or white-box testing?

We usually recommend grey-box testing: you give us test accounts for each user role, so we can test what a malicious user could really do. Black-box (no access) and white-box (with source code or architecture details) testing are also available.

Will testing disrupt our live website?

Testing is planned to avoid disruption. Rules of engagement, testing windows and any out-of-scope actions are agreed in writing before we start, and we can test a staging environment if you prefer.

Do you test against the OWASP Top 10?

Yes. Every web application test covers the OWASP Top 10 risk categories and follows the OWASP Web Security Testing Guide, with extra manual testing of your application's own business logic.

What happens after we receive the report?

We walk your team through the findings, answer developer questions while fixes are made, and then re-test the issues at no extra cost to confirm they are resolved.
